Mastering Your Short Game

By: Lisa Brown

Dear Golfer,

Have you ever frozen up in your short game?

If so, you're not alone. This is one of the most common errors in golf.

Because they look simple, short shots seduce us into focusing on making the shot rather than what we need to do to make it.

David Ledbetter, one of the best golf instructors in the world, believes that to succeed in the short game, we must invoke the power of the mind.

Ledbetter is known as the "master of teaching the golf swing," and counts PGA legends Nick Price, Greg Norman and Ernie Els among his students.

When it comes to your short game, he says: 'A confident player with a good short game works purely on feel and visualization-and all he sees is success.'

Here's how you can gain feel and visualization with your short game:

  • Practice your visualization at the driving range first - not during games. To visualize, you need to be relaxed, which means visualizing in a lower pressure environment. If you still can't get any images, start by visualizing for 3-5 minutes before falling asleep. You will soon become skillful at creating images in your mind.

  • Don't pressure yourself to 'see' the ball going into the hole immediately. Start by visualizing your swing instead. What I mean is, try to re-create the feeling of the perfect swing in your mind and body. You can even do a little bit of the motion to facilitate this.

  • Later, when feel and visual images are coming easily, switch to seeing the ball drop into the hole. If you cannot get an actual image, then try to get the feeling of pride that accompanies a successful shot. The image will not be far behind.

To quickly and easily shave several strokes off your golf score, then I recommend you get a copy of my ebook, "Breakthrough Golf! Lower You Score Now Using the Mental Secrets of Professional Athletes."

I have spent several years working with and learning from many of the world's best athletes on staying relaxed and performing their best under pressure.I then refined these ideas, tested the techniques, and put them together in one place.

If you want to dramatically improve your short game, bomb long drives, and retain your composure, I suggest you download it now.

It will take you step-by-step from where you are to where you want to be on the course. I promise it.

In fact, you can check it out at my risk.

P.S. Check out what a golfer who bought the book had to say about it:

Hi Lisa,

I am writing to tell you much your e-book has helped me in under a week and less than three rounds of golf.

My putting (which was scary and includes having the yips) changed dramatically since I got your book. Now it's the strongest area of my game.

I have today posted a score of 75 and my handicap is 19.
I always thought this was too high but I have only played to it in the last eight months.
Now, today, I played to a 7 handicap and shot my lowest score ever.

What is more impressive is that I believe I will better this score very soon probably the next time I play.
Thanks for your books.

I used to say I didn't mind what I scored as long as I hit the ball a mile, but I was in denial.
It gave me immense pleasure to score so well and I am hungry for my next visit to the course.

Thanks again.
Steve Baldock

p.s. I even dropped three strokes on the closing two holes.
